Vice President, Environmental Remediation

Canada recognizes the contribution of commercial nuclear energy to achieving its’ Net Zero ambitions, and the provision of secure and reliable carbon free generation. As such, the Canadian Federal Government is actively working with industry to ensure that nuclear power is at the centre of the energy mix in Canada for the future.
Demonstrating our ability to safely and efficiently manage, store and dispose of the nuclear generation process bi-products is a critical factor to maintaining stakeholder and public confidence in supporting the nuclear renaissance.
The VP will be responsible for:
- Leading the growth of the group’s waste management business in Canada & Asia Pacific, with full responsibility for growing that business in line with company targets.
- Having full P&L responsibility for revenues, EBIT, sales & marketing costs, overhead management and governance reporting to senior executive management.
- Development of strategic and tactical plans to ensure growth in region in line with corporate objectives and linked to budget submissions.
- Identification of strategic market opportunities and development of value propositions to capitalize on this growth potential/opportunities.
- Working with core members of the SNC-L global Technology & Environmental Remediation leadership team, sharing global OPEX and innovations to promote cross regional learning.
- Promoting, deploying and overseeing technologies and innovations related to this core business and market demands.
- Own and foster existing and new business relationships with key stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with industry partners and the broader nuclear community to generate technical solutions which act to address some of the industry’s most complex technical challenges.
- Leading/Overseeing the preparation of project proposals and internal investment requirements to facilitate divisional growth and the development of the business cases to support such.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and technical guidance to ensure adequacy of work.
- Recruitment of key staff and ensuring that all employees in the group are suitably qualified and experienced to perform their work.
- Adherence to company policies and guidelines.
**_ Desired Qualifications & Essential Experience_**
- University degree, engineering preferred
- Recognised industry expert in environmental remediation, nuclear waste management or related activities.
- 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation or related activities.
- 10+ years’ in a senior management role.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and managing client relationships.
- Strong commercial credibility and financial acumen.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed personnel environment with ability to work with functional management who second those resources.
- Project management experience in multi-disciplined projects.
- Proven track record in hitting or exceeding predefined company targets.
- Experience of cross-business working and collaboration skills, especially across product lines and internationally based businesses.
- The ability to manage multiple businesses cross-geography.
Willingness to travel Internationally as required.
This position will be based in SNC Lavalin’s Canadian nuclear headquarters is in Mississauga, Ontario on the west side of the Greater Toronto area (GTA).The option does exist for this position to be based in SNC secondary nuclear offices on the east end of the GTA (closer to Pickering/Darlington).
