The role will be responsible for user administration and support of the Windows Active Directory, Azure Cloud and Data Centre environment within the EXTENDICARE landscape. The individual will work closely with the Systems infrastructure team to help actively support all hardware, software and systems requirements across all environments and bring strong technical acumen to help design/implement operations and projects to success. The role will report to the Manager of IT Infrastructure.

The role is responsible for all aspects of Extendicare’s server and storage infrastructure with a strong focus on standardization of process and technology to drive operational efficiency, scalability and security.

As the Infrastructure Systems Administrator, Information Technology you will:

- Have hands-on implementation, configuration, and maintenance of private and cloud-based environments, to include the Windows, Citrix, VMware vSphere & Microsoft Azure environments, as well as recommend solutions to meet other existing and future requirements while remaining compliant with the required security accreditation standards.
- Have the ability to implement, configure and monitor physical & Virtual servers and SAN storage.
- Effectively utilize current monitoring and alerting tools and implement future central monitoring, alerts and configuration solutions.
- Provides expert-level support and technical mentoring to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the review of the current state of the systems infrastructure.
- Lead the Implementation of a centralized management and patching solution
- Participate in the patching/hardening practices of all Infrastructure systems
- Ensure all deployed systems solutions meet with current industry best practices
- Support the backup/DR processes with a managed service
- Participate as a project resource to deliver infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in the work to elicit client requirements, develop project planning approaches, including the assessment of current state processes and tools, the development of a future state and a long-term solution roadmap, aligned and integrated with the IT’s selected technologies.
- Participate in the documentation process of any assigned infrastructure projects or processes
- Ensures Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) and SLAs and any third-party supplier agreements are in alignment with and capable of delivering services within contracted timeframes.
- Part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline
- Microsoft Systems
- ITIL V3 Foundations Certification
- 2-3+ years of progressive information technology experience
- 1+ years of managing a Windows Server Infrastructure
- 1+ years of managing Exchange / Office 365 Hybrid
- 1+ years of managing a cloud infrastructure
- 1+ years managing a Teams voice environment (Would be nice)
- Experience planning, configuring, deploying and managing platform technologies across on-premise and hybrid cloud scenarios.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows Server & Exchange.
- Excellent knowledge in MS Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Workspace One, Veeam, Ivanti, Citrix, SAN technologies, NAS technologies, x86 Server hardware, networking
- Strong analytical skills with focus on troubleshooting and the translation of system issues to business impact
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively present analytical data to a variety of technical and nontechnical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to “Think outside the box” for troubleshooting
- Good business acumen, ability to understand end-to-end business processes; Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills to work well on cross-functional teams and at all levels of the organization
- Experience in health sector is an asset
