Client Medication Assistant

Shannex is seeking a Client Medication Assistant to join their team based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Client Service Manager, the Client Medication Assistant is key to supporting our clients in our sites and upholding the "Shannex Philosophy of Service.". The Client Medication Assistant will provide direct personal services to clients including medication administration. You will work within Retirement Living in the following service lines: Traditional/Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care & Enriched Care. Additional benefits include: **Approximate Hourly wage**: $18.00-$19.74 Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insurance Free onsite parking Employee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks Program Access to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safety About the Opportunity Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment; Assists in the provision of social, spiritual, and intellectual activities for residents; Assists residents with medical appointment booking and accompany them on medical appointments; Cleans resident rooms, server and household common areas; Administers resident medications as assigned under the direction of the Resident Services Coordinator/Manager and in accordance with Physician orders following all medication management policies and guidelines; Completing all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex’s Philosophy of Service: Your life. Your choice. Your Home. Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor. About You High School/ GED completion Shannex Client Services Assistant Certificate, Personal/ Home Support Worker Program or equivalent Parkland Medication Administration Certificate Program or equivalent Minimum two (2) years working with the elderly or one (1) year working in a Shannex Retirement Living Facility Current CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
