**Home Health Care Aide**
As a Home Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance within their homes. Your compassionate support will empower clients to maintain their independence while receiving the care they deserve. You’ll engage with clients daily, providing essential services that foster comfort and dignity. **What you’ll do**
- Provide compassionate personal care assistance to clients, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, ensuring any changes are reported promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with medication administration and ensure compliance with prescribed treatment plans.
- Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient care accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being, including memory care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to facilitate mobility for clients.
**Basic qualifications**
- Experience in home health or caregiving roles, particularly with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with EHR systems is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required.
**Preferred qualifications**
- Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Background in hospice care or long-term care environments is a plus.
- Skills in catheter care and understanding of vital sign monitoring techniques.
