**Job Summary**
Mino M’shki-ki Indigenous Health Team is seeking a full-time permanent Mental Wellness and Addictions Worker. Mino M’shki-ki follows a Model of Wholistic Health and Wellbeing with the belief that culture is treatment and culture is healing. The services we provide are culturally safe, respectful, non-judgemental, and confidential.

**Primary Duties Include**:

- Providing mental health, wellness and addictions care and counselling that is culture-based, culturally safe, and of the highest quality.
- Utilizing the teachings of the Medicine Wheel to ensure a wholistic approach to care delivery
- Facilitating client access to Traditional Healers and ceremonies, ensuring that protocols are understood and met.
- Planning and providing land-based activities and cultural programming, teachings and workshops.
- Consulting and work collaboratively with the other members of the Interprofessional health team bridging traditional and western approaches to care
- Advocating for and helping our members navigate outside services
- Ensuring proper monitoring/follow-up care and documentation in our EMR.

**Qualifications, Experience and Expectations**
- Post-secondary education in the area of Health or Social Services (registered and in good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers considered an asset).
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience providing mental health supports and counselling
- Experience working in a First Nation Organization or in a similar or related role.
- Effective crisis intervention skills.
- Knowledge, awareness and understanding of Indigenous culture, traditions, and traditional medicines
- Ability to facilitate presentations and group workshops.
- Leads a healthy lifestyle and is a positive role model.
- Must be able to document interactions with clients and program participants.
- Ability to engage people to build trust and rapport
- Demonstrated ability to work in an Interprofessional team environment
- Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends
- Current satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is required
