The Assistant Produce Manager supervises and coordinates the operations activities of the produce department. This position collaborates with the Produce Manager to predict, analyze, and access the buying/shopping patterns of Urban Grocer. This position provides leadership to the team, achieving the objectives for sales, margin, and turns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide superior customer service
- Maintain produce retail and receiving bay areas in clean, orderly condition
- Remain highly productive at all times and negotiate workload with supervisor to meet priorities
- Training new staff members
- Participate in inventory
- Participate in re-setting department shelves and cross-merchandising
- Accountability
- Reliable
- Assist with produce ordering
- Set pricing to meet margin goals, mark-down items as needed
- Rotate and face department

- Strong interest in the grocery industry
- The ability to carry 50 lbs
This is a full-time 40 hour a week position.

**Salary**: $19.50-$22.50 per hour

- Secondary School (preferred)
