**About Western**:
**About Us**:
The Global Health Systems (GHS) program is an intra faculty one-year professional master’s degree consisting of eight (8) months of course work followed by a three week Field School and a (300 hour) summer practicum. Over the course of 8 months, our student take courses in Business, Communications, and the Sciences.Our graduates have distinguished themselves in a number of health-related careers with national, provincial, and regional government agencies, multinational research firms, and a host of public and private health care agencies. Many of our graduates also gain enriching experiences from their African project placement to complement their professional education in areas like, but not limited to medicine and dentistry.
**Course Information**:
Global health systems (GHS) innovations come from creative and systems level thinkers who understand and select possible global health solutions that combine medical, social, economic and technological ideas. Using strategic analysis and systems thinking frameworks, we will develop your global health systems capabilities to assess, implement and scale innovations that achieve global health goals in complex cultural and political environments. These innovations range from medical treatments (i.e. or rapid diagnostic tests or new medical treatment options etc.) to new health delivery practices (i.e. incentives for community health workers, creating community-based education programs etc.) to new forms of partnering for success (i.e. social franchising, cooperatives, coalitions etc.)
**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
**Qualifications**:
In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
