The School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Western University promotes teaching and research collaborations among clinical and basic science innovators in engineering, medicine, and the biomedical and health sciences. More than 100 faculty members from Western’s Faculties of Engineering, Health Sciences, and Science and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry contribute to the scholarly activities of the School; this broad foundation is one of BME’s most unique features. We provide research-intensive training experiences to 80 graduate students in our masters and doctoral programs and via our new and growing undergraduate concurrent-degree programs.

**Course Information**:
This course teaches advanced concepts in research translation for developing intellectual property and regulatory strategies for a novel invention (biological, new chemical entity or device), generating a knowledge translation roadmap including team-building requirements, and professional skills required for a postgraduate academic or industry positions. Students will learn strategies to produce concise and effective written and oral presentations for research grants, philanthropic donors, and the media. This is a half course offered in the Winter Term. This class meets for two hours per week for 13 weeks.

While presently the expected delivery method of this upcoming course is in person, modifications in the course delivery to an online format may be required.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.

**Qualifications**:
In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
