**Key Responsibilities**
- **Financial Reporting**:Prepare and analyze financial statements, with a focus on the unique reporting needs of SaaS companies.
- **Closing Processes**: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- **General Ledger Management**: Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed account analysis.
- **Tax Compliance**:Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, payroll taxes, and other applicable taxes; prepare tax returns and ensure timely filings.
- **Budgeting and Forecasting**:Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning.
- **Audit Support**:Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting processes.
- **Team Development**: Lead, mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- **Cross-Department Collaboration**:Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

**Qualifications**
- **Native or Fluent Spanish**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- **+ 5 years of experience in Mexico**in accounting, preferably in a senior role, with significant experience in financial reporting for SaaS companies.
- Experience with US GAAP is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws, including VAT, payroll taxes, and corporate tax regulations.
- Proficiency in **CONTPAQi** accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Hands-on approach to financial processes and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Previous experience leading a Finance team.
- Excellent communication/people skills to be able to create positive relationships across different departments
- Advanced English skills
