Staff Veterinarian

**Mission**:
The Staff Veterinarian will work to ensure the overall health status of our flocks through a proactive approach to all health-related issues. As a licensed and accredited veterinarian, this position is required to work with internal departments and project teams and also to liaise with government officials for export and/or health issues. There is overall responsibility for maintaining, improving, and enhancing our internal programs: Biosecurity, Animal Welfare, etc. This is done by taking a proactive approach on all health-related issues and working with operational staff to ensure required quality products for our customers.
**Your Role**:
- Implementing & executing all health programs, including global layer norms
- Provide training, guidance, and support of operational staff in the execution of animal health programs
- Provide veterinary services for HG operations in Ontario
- Working closely with operational managers (farms, hatcheries, lab, transportation, etc.) and other HG
- Active involvement in Egg Farmers of Ontario audits, HACCP, Animal Welfare, Biosecurity, and other audits as required
- Provide solutions & ensure execution of health initiatives
- Support & facilitate exports programs (routine flock inspections, review health certificate, CFIA contact, relationships, etc.)
- Project work as required related to veterinary initiatives, sustainability, animal welfare, antibiotic use, etc.
- Support and liaison (as required) with other HG locations
**Profil**:
- **Licensed DVM in Ontario, CFIA Accreditation**:
- Practical veterinary experience with poultry
- Knowledge needed: Animal diseases, health and medicine, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Customer focused (internally and externally)
