Driver Supervisor

**Location: Head Office, Bradford**

ROA is knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of winter maintenance. Our client roster includes regional and municipal customers as well as high profile commercial properties throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.

We also provide a wide array of services such as float services, water truck services, mobile washing services as well as dump truck and loader rentals.

**Job Summary**

As the Driver Supervisor you are responsible for the recruitment and training and supervision of qualified operators for our winter maintenance and transportation services. You will maintain and monitor our CVOR to ensure it remains a satisfactory rating. This roll will work in conjunction with our Dispatcher to ensure the most effective and efficient distribution of personnel and equipment.

**Key Functions and Responsibilities**:

- Recruitment of qualified and safety orientated AZ and DZ operators
- Provide job specific training on equipment
- Perform road tests for operators
- Provide training to all drivers in the following areas:

- Highway Traffic Act
- Hours of Service and Fatigue Prevention
- Pre-Trip Inspections
- Monitor and ensure CVOR compliance
- Prepare for and conduct CVOR Audits with MTO Personnel
- Evaluate pre-trip inspection reports and filings
- Monitoring driver hours with assistance of supervisors
- Provide guidance and leadership on compliance issues
- Review vehicle inspection evaluations
- Monitor and report all compliance issues and results
- Attend snow events to monitor sites to ensure operational compliance
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for safe vehicle operation
- Ensure full compliance of all operators on all organizational policies and procedures as well as governing rules and regulations
- Identify areas of potential compliance vulnerability
- Assist in commercial motor vehicle collision investigation
- Assist in personal injury investigations
- Various office duties (filings of reports)
- Approve timesheets and enter in system for payroll
- Monitor operators for standby adjustments
- Perform some dispatch duties as required

**Education and Work Experience**:

- A minimum of Grade 12 or with relevant work experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in as a driver trainer
- Snow plow experience is mandatory
- Valid AZ License
- MS Office

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of Hours of Service/CVOR is mandatory
- Knowledge of snow removal operations is a mandatory

**Hours of Work**

This is a full-time on call 24/7 position during winter months usually November to March. April to October working hours would include days, some nights and weekends. Nights and weekends would alternate every other week and weekend with the Dispatcher. Must be available by phone on nights and weekends when on duty to deal with issues that arise with drivers and/or pickups and deliveries.

90% field, 10% office during the winter. Summer 60% office, 40% field
