**Job title: Equipment Operator & Trainer**

**Work Schedule: 14 days on and 14 days off - 12 hours shift daily**

**Location: Gogama, ON (Côté Gold Site)**

**Job Overview**:
The Equipment Operator and Trainer will be responsible for operating various machinery on site, such as graders, excavators, skid steers, and loaders. In addition to equipment operation, this role involves performing skilled manual labour as required and providing support to the Site Services Coordinator and Crew. The Equipment Operator and Trainer will also deliver on-the-job training to necessary on-site personnel and ensure adherence to all health and safety procedures and processes.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Responsible for training employees on a variety of project-related programs, including Heavy Equipment Operation, Hoisting and Rigging, Elevating Work Platforms, and Forklift Operation for the mine site scope of work. This includes managing all relevant tracking and documentation for each program.
- Provide timely feedback to management and supervisors regarding employee competency in relation to the training programs.
- Participate in training team meetings and contribute to training-related projects, such as developing new training courses and programs.
- Promote a positive safety culture that supports continuous improvement through active communication, participation, and skill development.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, inspire, and positively influence behaviour.
- Be a team player who accepts and can manage changes regularly.
- Show demonstrated leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Maintain working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Mining Regulations.
- Perform service work, renovations, new construction, and ongoing maintenance.
- Handle snow removal and road maintenance tasks.
- Operate graders and other equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders) from the company’s equipment fleet.
- Engage in skilled manual labour in construction, renovations, or concrete work.
- Clean and prepare worksites.
- Operate various hand and power tools to complete projects.
- Manage fueling of machinery and dewatering of sites.
- Conduct material handling.
- Perform additional tasks as required.

**Education/Qualifications**:

- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience preferred.
- Train the Trainer qualification in Ministry Common Core programs considered an asset.
- Valid tickets to operate a Grader and other equipment are assets.
- Valid Surface Miner Common Core and completion of specialty modules for equipment are assets. However, these will be required if hired.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Experience and valid tickets for operating machinery (e.g., power tools) are assets.
- G Class Driver’s license with a clean driving record (abstract required if hired).
- Must be conversant with OHSA regulations and comply with the site safety plan and rules.
