**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for the **delivery of instructor-led safety training courses in both virtual and in-person formats**; **assisting with the review and development**of existing or new courses and programs; and **providing**professional, quality** safety related customer service** to the membership and other identified customers.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide accurate and efficient delivery of safety training courses.
- Prepare to instruct: review course content and learning objectives; set up classroom as required.
- Instruct: teach the course as outlined in the course guide; employ appropriate questioning techniques and other effective instructional strategies; use training aids to enhance learning.
- Evaluate: Evaluate the performance of other Training Technicians going through the trainer certification process and provide feedback; make recommendations for changes to course content; assist with the review of occupational health and safety legislation/regulations and safety standards to identify implications for SCSA courses or programs as assigned.
- Administration: maintain a record of class participants; send relevant course documents to Administrative Services to ensure accurate and efficient processing of courses; evaluate LSE Proficiencies. Provide superior customer service; conduct follow-up calls with students when needed; answer student questions.
- Provide effective marketing and delivery of programs and services in the classroom setting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**What we are looking for**:

- Background in occupational health and safety (education and/or experience)
- Experience teaching adults (bonus if you have formal education or training in Adult Education)
- Experience in construction or a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA) designation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Computer literacy and attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly and teach technical content with confidence
- Team player with a positive attitude and a proactive mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with the expectation to get up to speed quickly
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

**Working Conditions**
- Primarily sedentary office work, performance of repetitive motions and use of general office equipment as well as navigation of construction sites (indoors and outdoors) as needed.
- Some flexibility is necessary and expected regarding the hours of work.
- Regular travel including overnight travel within the province.

**Total Compensation Details**:

- Starting annual salary will be between the minimum and mid-point of the range ($59,015 - $73,765)
- Health Benefits start from your first day and the monthly insurance premium is paid by SCSA (single or family coverage available).
- Upon successful completion of your 6 month probation you will receive a 2% salary increase and be eligible to participate in the contributary RRSP program.

- The Social Committee hosts several fun activities throughout the year including summer BBQ's.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:30pm and the Friday worked is 7:45am - 4:15pm. Every other Friday off.
