Current projects include Blue Beetle, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon. Recently released projects include John Wick: Chapter 4, Black Adam, Disney's The Little Mermaid, and Love, Death and Robots Volume 3, for which the company won a 2023 VES award.
**Work arrangements**:
As a company founded and led by an artist, creativity above all guides us. While we require employees to be present in the studio at least three days a week, we maintain flexible work arrangements for the remaining days. Within the new Rodeo FX Originals division, the Producer, Development and Business Relations plays a strategic role in managing projects in development and positioning original intellectual properties (IP). This role involves identifying and coordinating funding opportunities, establishing key relationships with local and international partners, and contributing to the visibility of projects through festivals, markets, and strategic initiatives.
The position serves as the main liaison between financial partners, the production team, and external collaborators while ensuring proactive management of administrative processes and co-production steps required for the development of Rodeo FX's animated films and series.
**Main Responsibilities**:
**Development of Rodeo FX Originals' Animated Films and Series**:
- Work with the Rodeo FX Originals team to identify potential film or animated series projects.
- Coordinate project development efforts in collaboration with creative and production teams.
**Financing and Business Relations**:
- Identify public and private funding opportunities, including tax credits, grants, and co-production partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial partners, co-producers, distributors, and local/international broadcasters.
- Ensure proper administrative and financial tracking of projects in collaboration with Rodeo FX’s finance team.
**Festivals, Markets, and Visibility**:
- Develop a strategic calendar for Rodeo FX Originals’ participation in relevant festivals and markets based on projects.
- Oversee the organization of presentations, submissions, and material deliveries to ensure project visibility among potential buyers and investors.
- Collaborate with Rodeo’s marketing team to implement promotional strategies positioning Rodeo FX Originals’ projects as innovative and competitive productions on the global stage.
**Co-Production Coordination and Management**:
**Inter-Team Collaboration**:
- Work with the Originals team to develop strategic partnerships supporting Rodeo FX’s IP development vision and objectives.
- Collaborate with creative, legal, and financial teams to ensure a cohesive approach to project development.
**Qualifications** Position Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in film, television, or digital media production, ideally in original IP development.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian funding mechanisms (Telefilm, SODEC, tax credits) and international co-productions.
- Experience participating in international festivals and markets.
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at different development stages.
- Experience in strategic partnership management and business relationship development.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
- Passion for innovation in audiovisual content creation.
- The person in this role will work closely with our teams in Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. They will also be involved in communications with our clients worldwide to showcase Rodeo FX’s technical and creative capabilities._
