**About the job**:
The Site Supervisor, Network and Cabling is responsible to oversee and supervise the entire client site for Tridon Communications and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the fiber, structured cabling, and network technicians on site. They will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards and that the customer’s needs are met. They will be the main point of contact for the customer on site, resolving any concerns and building strong customer relationships. The Site Supervisor will be responsible to train, coach, and mentor their technicians on proper work practices, proper techniques and ensure that safe work practices are followed all times. The Site Supervisor is expected to ensure that the work gets done and will be expected to execute work, lead from the front and by example. A high level of industry knowledge in structured cabling and Networks related to data communications is required.

- Excellent understanding of networking requirements and wiring standards applicable to the telecommunications industry
- Ability to grasp new techniques, and deal with rapidly changing events
- Ability to work safely in hazardous environments with knowledge and understanding of occupational hazards and safe work requirements (OH&S)
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of applicable telecommunication codes, wiring standards, regulations, and best practices.

**Must Haves**:

- Postsecondary education is an asset. Diploma in a related field preferred.
- CommScope Systimax certification training is an asset.
- Belden certification training is an asset.
- Corning certification training is an asset.
- CCNA or Equivalent certification
- A current Alberta driver’s license with good driving record.
- Safety first mindset

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Able to read and interpret telecommunication drawings and specifications
- Supervise the installation of structured cable components. (Cat 5E, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic)
- Supervise the installation and testing of communication circuits via available communications cabling network
- Execute, supervise, or assign the service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on commercial and/or industrial communication circuits and/or cabling networks
- Execute, supervise, or assign the repair or replacement of faulty components if necessary
- Supervise and coordinate activities of technical staff assigned to site
- Facilitate employee development and training. Keep Training Matrix up to date for Client.
- Ensure all data from technical staff is submitted and entered into the business system in a timely manner including LEM’s, work orders, incidents, etc.
- Assign client tickets to technicians and ensure technical staff update tickets assigned to them
- Update client ticketing system
- Assign client tickets to technicians
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and hold regular team meetings to communicate company and client information
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, service shop and bay areas
- Ensure equipment inspections, maintenance, and service is completed (Fleet Vehicles and Company Tools)
- Help to ensure safety and maintenance deficiencies identified in Safety inspections are corrected in a timely fashion
- Contribute on semi-annual employee appraisals on service staff
- Represent the company in a professional face to face manner with the customer directly requesting the work when needed
- Excellent customer service skills
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforces Tridon and client safety regulations
- Represent Tridon Safety on site. Conduct site inspections, behavioral based observations and Incident investigations and reports (in the case of an Incident). Ensure the team always has and uses the proper PPE.
- Maintain PPE levels on site and order in with Tridon Safety when required
- Schedule and participate in On-Call on a rotation basis
- Setup & Installation of Active Network Equipment
- Other duties as assigned
