The Western Development Museum - Corporate Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is seeking a **Collections Care Specialist**, responsible for the care and stewardship of the WDM’s Collections through a program of preventative and interventive conservation activities.

The **Collections Care Specialist** will be responsible for:

- Developing and implementing short and long-term conservation strategies, plans and procedures.
- Developing and delivering ongoing training and communication to Museum staff on artifact care and handling, including preventive conservation best practices.
- Identifying and communicating hazards in the Collection.
- Monitoring the condition of the WDM Collections in exhibit and storage locations across all five WDMs.
- Planning, performing and documenting conservation treatments for artifacts as approved by the Collections Manager.
- Preparing new acquisitions and artifacts for exhibit and storage (cleaning, housing, etc.).
- Collaborating with exhibit and other staff to identify appropriate materials and methods for artifact transportation, mounting and exhibit.
- Overseeing and directing volunteers, interns and other staff working in the conservation lab and artifact workspaces.

**Salary**: $47,008.00-$54,496.00 per year
