Structural Steel Inspector/ndt Technician

Responsibilities:

- Conduct nondestructive testing and welding inspection on materials and components using ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, or visual inspection methods
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to determine testing requirements
- Collect and analyze data from tests to identify defects or inconsistencies in materials or products
- Collaborate with construction management teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Prepare reports detailing test results and recommendations for further action
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration and operation

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
- CSS W178.2 Level 2 Welding Inspector, structural steel inspector
- CGSB 48.9712 Level 2 NDT Technician MT, PT, UT
- Experience with Building and Bridges would be an asset.
- NACE Coating experience would be an asset.
- Tasks would include performing visual PT, MT, UT, Structural Steel Inspections and other shop and field inspections.
- Proficient with computers and able to generate written reports.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Works well independently and as a team player.
- Certification in nondestructive testing methods required; additional certifications in specific methods preferred
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical documents
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in materials or products
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with construction management teams
