We are a multi-site Health Services organization operating PEI and NB. Our focus is on delivering reliable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that support patient care and clinical operations.
**Position Summary**
The IT Systems Administrator / IT Support Specialist will work closely with and alongside the Director of Technology to support, maintain, and enhance IT infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is hands-on and diverse, involving systems administration, end-user support, and exposure to specialized healthcare technologies. Occasional travel between sites in PEI and New Brunswick is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain Windows Server environments, including Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services
- Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint security solutions
- Configure and support firewalls, managed switches, and Wi-Fi systems
- Provide Tier 1-2 help desk support using a ticketing system
- Assist with administration of phone systems (cloud-based, POTS, and on-site PBX)
- Maintain and troubleshoot camera systems and NVRs
- Work with antivirus, backup, and security tools to ensure system reliability and compliance
- Collaborate with coworkers and stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently
- Document systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Learn and adapt to new technologies as required by the organization
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience with Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services
- Knowledge of firewalls, managed switches, and Wi-Fi systems
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with coworkers and end users
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between PEI and NB as required
Assets / Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience with Nurse Call systems
- Familiarity with Google Workspace
- Knowledge of cloud and on-prem phone systems
- Experience with camera systems and NVRs
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
