**Canada Summer Jobs - Outreach Assistant (Full-Time) Temporary position**

**Location: Programming & Promotions**

System wide position that may be assigned to any SCPL branch.

**Job Summary**:
The Outreach Assistant will focus on connecting with library customers at outreach opportunities, including the Kids Ultimate Challenge and library pop-ups in local parks, to promote library programs and services and the Summer Reading Club (SRC) - a reading contest for all ages held system-wide from June-August 2025. The Assistant will also provide assistance at library branches with SRC registration and participant reporting.

**Canada Summer Jobs Requirements**:
**All applicants must**

1. Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.

2. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment.

3. Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of the employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

4. International students are not eligible participants under this program.

**Qualifications**:
1. Able to travel within the city; access to reliable transportation.

2. A Criminal Record Check is required.

3. Experience working with children and/or youth.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

**Hours of Work**:
35 hours per week; evenings and weekends may be required; starting June 2, 2025 to August 30, 2025.

**Hourly Rate**:
$17.20 per hour
