**The Opportunities**:
These positions perform a wide range of duties in support of the City’s Parks Services, including: general parks maintenance, gardening, manual labouring and litter control.

Are self-motivated, reliable, and responsible, with knowledge of safe work procedures in a parks environment. Must have the ability to work outside in various weather conditions, exert continuous physical effort and work well with your co-workers.

**Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Operators require experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and operating related equipment
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers
- Considerable skill and knowledge in plant health and identification
- Considerable skill in the proper and safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools, including riding and hand mowers, weed eaters, light duty trucks and other related equipment
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License, Class 5 with a satisfactory driving record

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Gardening positions: a diploma in landscaping or horticulture would be an asset

**Wage Rates**:$18.91 - $27.37 depending on education, experience and the position (40 hours per week).
