**_Qualifications:_**
- _Successfully completed chef training or culinary management diploma (as per Long Term Care Homes Act Regulation #76)_
- _Preference will be given to applicants with a Red Seal Certification (Cook)_
- _Food Safety Certificate by Public Health (current within the last 3 years)_
- _Prior experience in large quantity cooking, preferably in a healthcare facility _
- _Knowledgeable about the Canada Food Guide and therapeutic diets_
- _Familiarity with the Public Health Food Premises Act, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)_
- _Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write English and to follow written instructions, standardized recipes, production charts and therapeutic menus_
- _Effective planning, organizing, time management and problem-solving skills_
- _Previous experience with menu planning and costing, and computerized inventory management_
- _Catering and baking experience an asset_
- _Ability to work independently and as part of a team_
- _Must be in good physical condition and be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including ability to safely lift and transfer hot heavy objects (up to 15 kg) and to stand for long periods of time_
