- The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Resilient City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.- The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department (Engineering Operations) requires one regular Full time Pipefitter - Layer (Water) and one regular full time Pipefitter - Layer (Sewers).**Responsibilities**
- Your role will be varied as you will perform skilled pipe laying work according to plans, line and grade; locate underground utilities; perform shoring duties in excavations and direct the work of one or more assistants. You will also be required to drive a service truck and respond to emergency and trouble calls.**Requirements**:

- A minimum of two years related experience in water or sewer utility systems and a thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and materials, tools and equipment used in water or sewer operations, maintenance and construction is required. You will have a valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License (prior to selection, applicants will be required to produce their driving record). You will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by courses leading to certification in water distribution- or Wastewater Collection within the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) with completion of Water Distribution 1 or Wastewater Collection 1 preferred. You must be able to deal effectively with the public and embrace values such as teamwork, respect, a positive attitude, professionalism and integrity. You should also have demonstrated ability to direct the work of others.**Compensation**
