**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and children's preferences.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Work closely with childcare staff to ensure meals meet the nutritional needs of all children, including those with special dietary requirements or allergies.
- Manage inventory, create grocery purchase lists, and ensure all food items are stored properly.
- Develop and follow a menu that provides balanced and varied meals for children.
- Monitor and control food waste and manage kitchen budget effectively.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Level 1 Early childhood Education Certificate( Preferred)
- Alberta Food Safety certification is required.
- Experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting will be an asset.
- Knowledge of child nutrition and special dietary needs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Police Clearance Check with vulnerable sector search is required.

**Salary and Benefits**
- Hourly Wages based on experience
- Benefits provided within the first six months of employment.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safety Certification (required)
- Police Clearance Check (preferred)

Work Location: In person
