**Position Summary**:
As the Controller, you will be a key leader responsible for all accounting operations of the firm. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting. Your work will directly contribute to the firm's financial health and support informed, strategic decision-making by leadership. This is an onsite position, requiring 5 days per week in the office.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including the posting of journal entries and the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements, billings, cash receipts, and other key transactions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Prepare cash flow statements and assist with financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Administer payroll and partner draw distributions.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and prepaid expenses.
- Handle government remittances and reconciliations, ensuring full compliance.
- Maintain and optimize invoicing and AR procedures.
- Create and update financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
**Qualifications**:
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior accounting leadership role, such as Controller or Assistant Controller, with the ability to perform all aspects of the accounting function.
- High proficiency in AP, AR, payroll, and related financial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with firm leadership and partners.
- Experience with accounting software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, and QuickBooks (or similar tools).
