With our new fiscal around the corner, we are looking to add **Plant Relief** positions at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The primary role of the Plant Relief position is to support the production area safely and efficiently by performing general production duties required for the manufacture and shipment of safe and high-quality food products. The Plant Relief position is a member of the MDI production team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve team/department goals. As directed, provides support to other roles within the dairy operations area. This position will require shift work, weekend, and holiday rotations and be required to support varying shifts that may be affected by a leave.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for operating packaging equipment.
- Loading machinery with packing materials.
- Complete required documentation, accurately perform line quality checks and record results.
- Package, palletize and transport from the department to appropriate location.
- Sanitizing of the equipment.
- Receive and load tankers.
- Review all incoming loads for order, temperature, and other factors in accordance with the Quality Assurance.
- Monitors mount of milk of products being unloaded to prevent overflow of tanks and silos.
- Maintaining department pumps, piping and other equipment necessary for the unloading of products.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Run cleaning and sanitation procedures (CIPs & COPs) on all equipment after production run.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement with ideas or suggestions for process improvement and streamlining.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures related to job responsibilities and tasks and be actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Other support duties as assigned such as re-labelling, re-palletizing etc.
**Education / Competencies**:
- Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience.
- Forklift license and experience on forklift operation an asset.
- Computer skills - working proficiency in computerized environment; use of ERP, HMI systems plus Word, Outlook, and Excel an asset.
- Comprehension - Able to understand and follow detailed and specific instructions
- Communication - solid verbal and written English language skills
- Food Processing knowledge - working knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and other quality systems.
- Mechanical Aptitude - able to evaluate and troubleshoot equipment or processes and implement solutions.
- Safe Work Priority - you care about keeping yourself and co-workers safe.
- Teamwork - Able to work as a contributing and reliable member of the team.
- Able to lift up to 25kg (55 lbs.)
- Solid work ethic - Capability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Availability - Able to work required shift schedule including weekends and holidays.
