**Job Summary**:
The Hydrovac / Heavy Equipment Operator reports to Superintendents to operate Tornado Hydrovac trucks and heavy equipment as required. Heavy Equipment operation may include rubber tire backhoes, skid steers, trenchers and plows. This role also includes the maintenance of the equipment, performing safety checks and site evaluations as required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Dig and expose underground utilities with Hydrovac.
- Operate Heavy Equipment, including rubber tire backhoes, skid steers, trenchers and plows.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and mechanical checks.
- Ensure safe operations of equipment.
- Maintain and clean equipment when finished using it.
- Site setup and cleanup.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Class 3Q Driver’s License
- Experience with Tornado Hydrovac units is considered an asset.
- Experience operating rubber tire backhoes, skid steers, trenchers and plows
- Experience operating in urban environments with knowledge of DOT restrictions and regulations.
- Outdoor construction experience.
- Underground utility or telecommunication experience is an asset.
- Basic Hydrovac mechanical aptitude.
