**What You’ll Do**:
As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll help oversee the daily operations of our retail store and ensure that every customer leaves happy — and with great food in hand. You’ll play a key role in creating an organized, efficient, and friendly environment that reflects VG Meats’ commitment to excellence.

Your main responsibilities include:

- Overseeing retail operations and supporting day-to-day leadership of the team.
- Managing inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships for both wholesale and retail.
- Merchandising — ensuring our displays are full, fresh, and inviting.
- Providing **exceptional customer service** and helping the team do the same.
- Leading the production crew — from meat cutters to prepared foods staff — to keep everything running smoothly.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and fully stocked store that customers love to shop in.
- Understanding the financial levers that drive store performance and helping the team hit its goals.
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health & safety standards.

**What You Bring**:

- A **high school diploma** (required); post-secondary in culinary arts or butchery is a strong asset.
- ** Supervisory experience** with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team.
- A strong understanding of food, retail, and customer experience.
- Comfort and skill with knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other meat-cutting tools.
- ** Excellent communication and organization skills.**
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- A team-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a cold environment.
- Food Handler’s and First Aid Certificates are an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
