The Health Club Assistant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager in the daily operations of the club. This position focuses on leading the reception/front desk team, ensuring outstanding customer service, maintaining operational standards to ensure smooth class flows and functionality of the space, overseeing facility maintenance compliance, and tracking performance through structured reports and checklists to ensure a remarkable client experience.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
**Reception Team Leadership**
- Supervise, train, and schedule our reception/front desk staff to ensure consistent, friendly, and professional service
- Implement and monitor customer service standards, ensuring all members and guests have a positive first impression and receive consistent customer care
- Coach and support the team in handling member inquiries, complaints, and check-in procedures
- Conduct regular team meetings to reinforce priorities and provide updates
- Support and supplement the reception when needed

**Facility Maintenance and Customer Experience**
- Oversee daily club walk-throughs and ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all facilities to ensure an optimal client experience
- Develop and enforce maintenance and operations checklists to ensure general facility upkeep and a seamless class flow and client experience.
- Must be able to handle gym equipment and weights
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to resolve maintenance issues quickly
- Provide tours and follow up with new prospects to ensure they receive a tailored plan for their fitness needs
- Ensure compliance of the studios health, safety and security policies

**Administrative Support & KPI’s tracking**
- Assist the General Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks including tracking of staff payroll hours, class scheduling, instructor replacements, studio booking requests and inventory management
- Manage membership and billing services for accuracy, including renewals, cancelations, refund requests and late payments follow up
- Track and report on KPIs such as membership sales, class attendance, retention rates, and customer satisfaction

**Operational Excellence**
- Motivate staff and foster a positive workplace culture
- Partner with other department leads (fitness, marketing, sales and maintenance) to ensure seamless club operations and communication
- Assist with special events, promotions, and member engagement initiatives
- Continuously seek improvements in processes and workflows to improve member engagement and satisfaction
- Act as the primary point of contact in the General Manager’s absence

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience, ideally in a health club, hospitality, or retail-focused environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills with experience managing a team of 8-10 staff.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail and ability to think on their feet
- Result-driven with a growth mindset, a proactive and positive attitude.
- Proficient in Excel and point of sales systems.
- Fluent in English and French
- Full time onsite position
