You will have the opportunity to use your creativity as you aid in bringing landscaping designs to life through stone work, planting, trimming, and mowing, while also strategically placing lawn décor. **LANDSCAPER/LABOURER OVERVIEW**
**HOURS OF WORK**: Fulltime, Seasonal
**SALARY**:$16.00 - $21.00 per hour
**SHIFTS AVAILABLE**: Monday - Friday | Saturdays (optional) | 8am - 6pm
**JOB** **DESCRIPTION**
Ask yourself...Do you have a green thumb? Do you like working outdoors? Are you strong and physically fit? Do you like working with others? We are searching for a talented and resolute landscaper to join our team.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Care for lawns and plants using a variety of tools, including rakes, saws, shovels, trimmers, axes and pruning saws, to ensure they still area esthetically pleasing
- Mow the grass using edger's and mowers, keeping it at a best height
- Keep plants and flowers healthy by pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, and weeding, mulching, and aerating
- Plant new grass and foliage following planned designs to create the yard inthe client and/or landscape designer
- Monitor the sprinkler system to ensure it regularly waters the lawns and reset it as necessary, as well as water by hand when needed to support the health of the plants
- Keep flower beds and garden areas clean by picking up any dead branches and flowers as well as trimming or picking the plants as needed
- Aid in placing decorative rocks, stones, statues, and other items around the lawn to ease the completion of the overall aesthetic look
- And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values
**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a landscaping or grounds keeping role (preference), IH will train all new employees
- Must be able to run maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers, and other power equipment needed to perform specific tasks(preference)
- Strong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance(preference)
- High diligence with excellent organizational skills(preference)
- **Good stamina and physically fit to perform essential duties of job(preference)**:
- Must have own means of transportation to and from Imperial Horticulture(preference)
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions(required)
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: CSA approved safety shoes & CSA approved safety eyewear(required)
- Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record (required)Must be legally able to work in Canada (required)
- Must be over 18 years old (preference)
- Grade 12 diploma (preference)
