**Job Title**:CNC Set up Operator** (**This person will be on rotational shifts between days and afternoons)**

**Education Required**:

- Completion of high school Diploma
- Speak English, Read and Write English
- Completion of vocational or technical training

**Skills/Experience**:

- CNC Lathe Machinists must be able to work independently with little supervision; and have the necessary skills to troubleshoot programs, tools and have the ability to perform set ups for multiple CNC Lathes, while maintaining tight tolerances and working with very small dimensions; Must have a strong understanding of programs, tools and paths in order to run and edit programs if required.
- Ability to communicate with Team Leaders when machining times are not realistic or when the schedule is not being met.
- Responsible for consistently machining a quality product that meets our Customer’s Quality Standards and Pneu-Hyd’s Quality Standards.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain tight tolerances with various components is required. In addition to machining a quality product.

**Job Duties**:

- Perform set up and operation of the CNC Lathe(s);
- Select, pre-set and install live tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads and automatic tool change magazine as required by the sequence;
- Select & edit programs, select and prepare tooling as required;
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment;
- Complete first run inspection and complete spot checks for conformance to specifications;
- Edit program to optimise and/or correct machine performance;
- Ensure that all machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times;
- **Notify Team Leader when run times are incorrect or the cycle time does not match the tact time;**:

- Organize tools for next run during automatic controlled cycles to decrease changeover time;
- Provide valuable input to programmers that may require assistance with tool selection
- Complete minor troubleshooting as required;
- Observes and listens to machine operation in order to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools when possible;
- Provide guidance and/or training for co-workers
- Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements;
- Ensure ISO guidelines are followed;
- Other Duties as assigned

**Reports to**:Plant supervisor

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
