**Responsibilities**

The Laboratory Technician, under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, will be involved in the following: running wet chemistry assays, conducting scientific experiments, generating reports, maintaining lab equipment and performing other lab duties as assigned. This position will assist in the design of new products or services and improvements on existing products or services. This role will also maintain a safe working environment.

**Job Duties**
- Assist in the design of new products or services and improvements on existing products or services.
- Special Projects related to Research & Development.
- Report Writing.
- Receiving, logging and storing QA/QC samples.
- Contributing to the operation-related maintenance and housekeeping of the lab and testing equipment.
- Analyzing different enzyme activities as part of the Total Quality System.
- Analyzing enzyme activities in samples from our customers.
- Occasionally, preparing pilot batches of different products to be sent abroad.
- Sending samples to different labs for special tests.
- Assist in the startup of new analyses as they are developed.
- Execute projects in collaboration with the Lab technician, Lab Manager or QC Manager.
- Transfer documents from Pages to Google Docs, Google Sheets.
- Update Spreadsheets.
- Other general lab duties.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Science or Diploma from Canadian Institution in chemistry, biology, food science or related field.
- 3-5 years working experience in a laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with various instrumentations related to food and agricultural chemistry analysis.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices including method proficiency, data logging, report generation and other aspects of GLP.
- Experience in summarizing data in reports
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a priority driven environment.
- Microsoft Office Skills, knowledge of Google Docs, Google sheets will be an asset.
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Ability to work both in a team as well as independently.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $42,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
