**Job description**

The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting all industrial refrigeration systems in the plant. In addition, this position is responsible for maintenance of the Ammonia refrigeration system and water treatment equipment.

**JOB DUTIES AND TASKS**
- Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, Safety and all established regulations.
- Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure all frozen refrigeration systems are well maintained.
- Ensure all Ammonia Refrigeration systems are well maintained, following specific safety procedures.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine layout of industrial refrigeration system.
- Usage of PLC programming.
- Ensure efficient operating performance through troubleshooting system issues, providing timely corrective action.
- Communicate and coordinate with supervisor concerning all short-term repairs and long term repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance to refrigeration systems to reduce system issues.
- Monitor and record compressor readings hourly.
- Provide support on production/HACCP/GMP issues, ensuring company standards are met and maintained.
- Assist Maintenance crew if additional help is needed.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- **Refrigerator Operator “Class B” is mandatory.**:

- Recent work experience in the trade.

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
