**Health and Safety Coordinator**

Acclaim is looking to an energetic person to fill the role of a safety coordinator. This person will be working both in office with documentation and going to client work sites for support and auditing. While there may be a focus on the construction, mining and industrial sectors, work in all sectors is possible.

**Job Duties**:

- Provide a strong safety leadership presence when on work sites.
- Assisting clients with safety responsibilities regarding compliance to acts and regulations.
- Assist with hazard recognition and implementation of controls (ie: risk assessments, job hazard analysis)
- Consult and provide support with specific activity types (ie: confined space, hot work, working at heights, and more).
- Assist in the planning and start-up of new projects with respect to safety issues (ie: PHRs, start up meetings, etc).
- Deliver various training to client workforce both in person and virtually. May include supporting clients with coordination of 3rd party training, validating and record keeping.
- Audit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation as well as certain accreditation bodies (COR, WSIB Excellence, and more).
- Verify documents and records. (ie: safety talks, site inspections, incident reports, worker training records, risk assessments and more).
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced site audits and provide related reports for trends analysis.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near missed and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain statistics, records and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations.
- Can include client project placement if available / interested.
- Other safety related actions as they arise.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledgeable in health and safety legislation, auditing and health and safety management systems.
- Minimum 2 year experience primarily as a safety coordinator.
- CHSO, NSCO, CSSE are required for this position. Must have at least started the process.
- Ability to work alone and manage their time and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and other administration systems.
- French is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
