The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
- College Diploma in Medical Office Administration preferred

**Skill, Ability and Experience**:

- Beginner level proficiency using the MS Office Suite of products required
- Accurate computer keyboarding skills required
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology required
- Previous clerical experience in a medical setting preferred
- Recent experience as a Ward Clerk preferred
- Recent patient registration experience preferred
- Experience with processing doctor’s orders preferred

**Principal Duties**:

- Completes reception and clerical tasks applicable to the needs of the department
- Registers and requisitions patients for multiple departments within Bluewater Health, CEEH
- Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
- Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
- Other related duties as assigned

Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement
