This includes using techniques and strategies to communicate “I care and I respect you,” providing information in a way patients and families can understand, listening to patients and families to learn what an exemplary healthcare experience means to them, and seeking their perspective throughout their stay and during improvement initiatives. **Qualifications**: - Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required - College Diploma in Medical or Office Administration preferred **Skill, Ability and Experience**: - Beginner level proficiency using the MS Office Suite of products required - Accurate Computer keyboarding skills required - Knowledge of Medical Terminology required - Recent experience as an Ambulatory Care Clerk preferred - Recent patient registration experience preferred - Recent Community Wide Scheduling preferred - Previous clerical experience in a medical setting preferred - Experience working with Collective Agreements preferred **Principal Duties**: - Completes registration, reception, and clerical tasks applicable to the needs of the department - Schedules appointments for patients following appropriate guidelines - Coordinates staffing functions as directed - Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives - Completes continuing education requirements as necessary - Other related duties as assigned Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement We thank you in advance for your interest in Bluewater Health, however, only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
