Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild construction hoist elevators (man and material lifts).
- Fabricate and install new parts as needed to meet specifications.
- Perform MIG welding.
- Use oxy-acetylene or plasma torches for cutting metal with precision.
- Operate drill presses, grinders, and other machinery to create holes and fittings.
- Modify or replace structural components as needed.
- Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to company and regulatory safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
- Maintain tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery in good working condition.
- Identify and report equipment repairs or maintenance needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in welding (MIG) and torch cutting.
- Experience using fabrication equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and saws.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or construction equipment refurbishment (preferred).
- Knowledge of hoist elevators, lifts, or similar machinery is an asset.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with heavy machinery and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
