Sous l’autorité de la Direction des Services de santé primaire, l’assistant(e) dentaire fournit un soutien et une aide complets au Dentiste. L’assistant(e) dentaire intervient toujours en fonction des principes de la promotion de la santé et de ses déterminants, en assumant les responsabilités suivantes:
RESPONSABILITÉS
- Aider le dentiste/l'hygiéniste et les autres fournisseurs de soins du CSC à établir les procédures et le suivi des dossiers, au besoin
- Examiner l'horaire du dentiste/hygiéniste et aider à organiser le flux des patients tout au long de la journée
- Examiner le dossier du patient avant l'arrivée du dentiste et prévoir les besoins de ceci pour chaque patient
- Installer et préparer l'équipement et les instruments dentaires conformément aux règlements et aux lignes directrices établis
- Suivre des procédures efficaces et précises pour aider à gérer l'horaire du dentiste et le flux des patients
- Offrir un excellent service à la clientèle afin d'assurer au patient une visite agréable et confortable
- Préparer, démonter et nettoyer la suite dentaire avant et après le traitement
- Aider le dentiste à préparer des plans d'hygiène dentaire personnalisés
- Stériliser et nettoyer régulièrement les instruments et la suite dentaire après chaque patient et à la fin de la journée
- Tenir à jour les dossiers électroniques des patients
- Aider le dentiste dans les ateliers et les activités promotionnelles présentés au CSC et dans la communauté
- Respecter la confidentialité, les lois et les lignes directrices concernant les dossiers des patients (p. ex., la LPRPS)
- Recruter la clientèle pour différents programmes tels que PSDA (Programme de soins dentaires pour les aîné(e)s)
- S'assurer que les aires de traitement sont entièrement approvisionnées
- D'autres tâches peuvent être assignées
EDUCATION, APTITUDES ET AUTRES EXIGENCES
- Diplôme d'études collégiales ou l'équivalent
- Certificat d'assistant dentaire agréé
- Excellentes compétences en service à la clientèle
- Excellentes aptitudes à la communication verbale et écrite en français et en anglais
- Expérience avec AbelDent et OHISS
- Compétences culturelles sécuritaires prouvées afin de travailler avec des populations âgées vulnérables
- Être disposé(e) à travailler selon un horaire variable et à se déplacer pour répondre aux besoins de la clientèle
- Solides compétences en matière d'organisation et de gestion du temps
- Capacité de faire plusieurs tâches à la fois et de travailler dans un environnement où les activités se déroulent à un rythme rapide
- Compétences en informatique et capacité d'apprendre de nouveaux programmes, au besoin
CONDITIONS SPÉCIALES
- Être prêt à travailler selon un horaire flexible pour répondre aux besoins des patients
- Avoir accès à un véhicule automobile et détenir un permis de conduire valide de l'Ontario
- Fournir une vérification du casier judiciaire pour le travail auprès des personnes vulnérables
- Une preuve de vaccination contre la COVID-19 (ou un billet médical pour une exemption) sera demandée au moment de l’embauche

Under the direction of the Primary Health Services Director, the Bilingual Dental Assistant provides fulsome support and assistance to the Dentist. The Dental Assistant works following the principles of health promotion and the determinants of health and assumes the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Dentist/ Hygienist and other providers with procedures and charting as necessary
- Review the Dentist’s/ Hygienist's schedule and help organize patient flow throughout the day
- Review patient chart prior to Dentist’s intervention and anticipate their needs for each patient
- Set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain Dentist’s schedule and patient flow
- Provide excellent customer service to help ensure a smooth and comfortable visit for the patient
- Prepare and clean dental suite before and after treatment
- Assist the Dentist in the preparation of individualized dental plans
- Routinely sterilize, clean instruments and the suite after each patient and at the end of the day
- Maintain electronic patient records
- Assist the Dentist in workshops on oral hygiene principles and promotional activities presented at the CSC and in the community
- Adhere to confidentiality, laws and guidelines with regards to patient records (e.g. PHIPA)
