Do you have a passion for helping individuals find meaningful employment and improve the quality of their lives? If you answered yes, you may be a good fit for this position The Action Group is currently seeking a part-time Employment Counsellor at the Lacombe Employment Centre. Position is 3 days/week, Monday-Wednesday, 8:30am-4:30pm with flexibility to cover vacations/absences.
- Strong client focus, with a genuine interest in and respect for a diverse clientele
- Strong knowledge of current labour market trends and enthusiasm for engaging with local employers and community partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to spelling and grammar
- Self-motivation and enthusiasm to contribute to a team
- Adaptable, with strong ability to adjust to changing circumstances and support the workflow of a dynamic office setting
**Job responsibilities will include**:
- Determine and assess clients’ needs for assistance
- Provide wrap-around supports to address barriers with job search, job maintenance, and mid-career changes
- Maintain knowledge about Alberta Employment Standards
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and community agencies by promoting services through onsite visits
- Create social media posts to promote jobs and our services
- Write job ads and maintain the job board
- Stay current on labour market information and community services
- Collaborate and communicate with team members to ensure seamless workflows
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in the fields of Career Development, Human Services, Human Resources, or Education; CCDP designation or interest in achieving designation is an asset
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
Work Location: In person
