**General Description**:
The Desktop Support Specialist will supply support such that the Information Technology meets (and/or exceeds) IT Customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The Desktop Support Specialist will provide recommendations & standardization, deployment and maintenance of “client side” information technology solutions. Additionally, this role will support the IT Infrastructure Team as well as provide support to IT/OT related projects. Most importantly, the Desktop Support Specialist will be “IT customer centric”, seek to resolve IT issues quickly, effectively and minimize business interruption.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Respond to Service Requests, install, configure, update, troubleshoot, and assist users on all desk-side information technology (such as PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, landlines, smartphones, and peripherals).
- Administer user accounts (Active Directory, MS Azure, MS Intune), and file sharing permissions.
- Research latest information technologies that could be of value for Sofina Foods.
- Document IT assets (software, software licenses and hardware).
- Process IT related documentation and client-side software and hardware asset management.
- Ability to adjust to new responsibilities as technology changes.

**Requirements**:

- College Diploma or University Degree in Information Technology.
- Prefer 2 years or more experience supplying end user support.
- Experience with supporting office networks of computers, and peripherals in a mid-size company.
- Experience with Smart Phones, PC’s/ laptops, printers, switches, hubs, Cisco/HP products, SAN’s, and wireless technologies.
- Experience in a computerized manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a food processing company an asset.
- Highly organized, initiative-taking and multi-task oriented with solid work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Effective communication (verbal & written) and people skills.
- Meticulous logical thinker with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborator with a customer focus.

**Working Condition**:

- Vehicle and valid driver’s license needed.
- periodically, however, travel requirements could increase during project implementations or acquisition integration. Physical environment is generally pleasant, while moderate physical effort is expected. Frequent overtime work and flexibility to work during unusual hours is expected. Overnight travel is needed.

**Timing**: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Not Hybrid)
