This position will be part of our Printing Sector and In-Store Marketing group. The Printing Sector has over 3,500 employees and 13 state-of-the-art print plants.

**About this opportunity**

Reporting to the Manager of ISM Digital Print and Finishing, the scheduler will work directly with the Customer Service Representatives, Pre-planning department, Production Operators and Supervisors by organizing the effective administration of the Production Planning function and ensuring that all information is exchanged expeditiously.

**What you will do-**
- Attend pre-plan meetings for large upcoming campaigns
- Assist Project Management team with scheduling inquiries
- Work with Procurement team to ensure stock is available
- Work closely with production teams to ensure printed material arrives at various finishing stages on time based on their schedule
- Prioritize jobs that require additional production methods or outsourcing
- Schedule jobs on various production equipment using scheduling software
- Ensure production paperwork is delivered to production equipment
- Advise Project Management team if challenges arise with scheduling
- Analyze schedule and move jobs between presses to increase capacity
- Alert Project Management team when a due date is not achievable
- Find alternate production methods to meet timelines
- Organize schedule based on stock and sizes for efficiency
- Monitor schedule for incorrect dates, stock, schedule and advise Project Management team
- Work with other plants to move work to meet timelines
- Prioritize the workflow for all planning, prepress, pressroom and finishing operations with the purpose of maximizing customer satisfaction and minimizing manufacturing costs;
- To develop and maintain a production schedule that accurately reflects the current status of all jobs (daily, weekly and long range schedules) and to review this schedule with all required departments;
- Load and identify what machines and processes all new orders will impact including confirming that all dates have been supplied and identified as to when material is required, as well as to confirm and identify when receipt of material and information from our customer is required;
- Host daily scheduling meetings;
- Monitor daily workflow and identify potential shortfalls in order to facilitate resolution;
- Be proactive about capacity issues and ensure the overtime situation is identified for those that need to be addressed;
- Identify any over capacity issues that may result of work being outsourced;
- Remain flexible and available for contact after business hours as determined by business needs;
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

**What you have to offer**
- Minimum three (3) years related production experience along with a post-secondary education and knowledge of the digital print industry preferred;
- Superior organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills;
- Proactive thinker who demonstrates the ability to handle stress in a patient and controlled way;
- Vision to see and understand the “big picture” in terms of work in process and consequences as a result of changing variables of the customers job requirements;
- Experience with Management Information System “Pace” would be a strong asset.
- Must be fluent in Microsoft Excel.
