We are currently hiring for the position of **Estimator** in our organization. **Delco Perks & Benefits** - **Retirement Support**: We provide every full-time permanent employee with RRSP matching for their long term plans. - **Health & Wellness**: Staying healthy is important; we provide health, dental, life, and disability insurance, along with our employee assistance program. - **Development Opportunities**: We value our employee career development by offering professional support, training reimbursement program, Lunch n' Learns, etc. - **Social**:We enjoy getting together at various company events. - **Culture**:Come join our innovative, collaborative, and energetic environment. - **Flexibility**:We try to accommodate real-life as much as possible and know that work is just a part of our daily lives. **Responsibilities**: - Lead and coordinate design-build estimate teams in response to RFPs for security-focused design-build projects across Canada. - Manage and provide strategic input on estimating, cost analysis, profitability, budgeting, and risk management for multiple projects concurrently. - Offer clear direction and technical guidance to project execution teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements. - Oversee the solicitation of trades, including bid invitations, subcontractor agreements, pricing negotiations, addenda management, and proposal submissions. - Supervise estimating staff in performing comprehensive quantity take-offs while ensuring adherence to safety, security protocols, and relevant legislation. - Analyze project plans, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate bid estimates, incorporating site visits, quantity assessments, and pricing evaluations. - Contribute expertise to problem-solving efforts and mentor estimating team members to enhance capabilities and efficiency. - Collaborate with executives to evaluate and present estimate proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations. - Prepare conceptual estimates by leveraging historical data and industry insights to drive informed decision-making. - Foster collaboration between design teams and stakeholders to optimize project designs for cost efficiency and adherence to specifications. - Liaise with manufacturers and service providers to obtain competitive quotations meeting technical and performance requirements. - Conduct bid analysis, negotiate vendor contracts, and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality. - Prepare comprehensive estimates with a focus on delivering integrated security solutions and meeting enterprise-level requirements. - Demonstrate expertise in construction contracts, bill of materials (BOM) management, and cost estimation adjustments based on project variations. - Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project timelines and milestones. - Conduct site visits, review blueprints, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate project scoping and execution. - Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and corporate policies, including documentation of "As Built" changes and asset management. - Travel as needed for project requirements and actively engage in ongoing professional development and industry events. **Qualifications** - Minimum of 8 years' experience in technology consulting or Technology/IMIT construction industry, with a focus on Division 25, 27 & 28. - At least 5 years of project management experience, including large-scale commercial and institutional projects. - Working knowledge of various technology systems and communications infrastructure, such as structured cabling, data networks, wireless networking, and tracking systems (RTLS), Audio Visual Systems, Nurse Call, Public Address, Voice/Telephony Communications, and Distributed Antenna Systems. - Experience with building operating systems, including healthcare systems and facility security (CCTV, access control) preferred. - Understanding of smart building technologies, system integration, and interoperability highly desirable. - Proficiency in project budget development and financial management within the construction industry context. - Ability to travel within Canada and internationally as required. - Experience with design-build procurement projects considered a significant asset. - Security clearance (Secret) required. **About Us** Delco Security, a division of Delco Automation Inc., is a premiere integrator of security, life-safety, and information systems.
