**Job Title**: Event Planner
**Location**: 43645 Industrial Way, Chilliwack, BC
**Job purpose**:The Event Planner is responsible for the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of all company events. This role ensures that both employee and customer events are well-organized, well-communicated, and aligned with company culture and objectives. The Event Planner will also document and archive event history for future reference.
**Key** Responsibilities**
- Plan and execute a variety of employee and customer events across multiple locations, including:
- Summer BBQ's for each location
- Christmas Parties for each location
- Tradeshows and conferences
- Open houses and customer appreciation days
- Corporate meetings and training sessions
- Field Days and workshops
- Culture and community events (e.g., golf tournaments, charity events)
- Personal milestone celebrations (anniversaries, retirements, etc.)
- Work closely with employees at various locations (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan) to ensure smooth execution of location-specific events
- Collaborate with the marketing director to align event strategies with company goals
- Manage event budgets, ensuring expenditures align with annual financial plans and providing periodic updates
- Ensure events are properly documented through photography, expense trackers, tradeshow checklists and post event surveys and archived for historical records
- Coordinate with the marketing department to have events promoted internally and externally across social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Oversee logistics, vendor relationships, and travel arrangements as needed
- Keep track of tradeshow banners and make sure tradeshow booths are up to Southern’s brand standards
**Qualifications & Competencies**
- **Event Planning Expertise**: Degree or certification in event planning, or equivalent hands-on experience
- **Organized & Detail-Oriented**: Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple events and deadlines
- **Excellent Communication Skills**: Comfortable engaging with employees, vendors, and customers, with a natural ability to listen and respond effectively
- **Creative & Problem-Solving Mindset**: Ability to assess situations quickly, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions
- **Tech-Savvy & Social Media Proficiency**: Familiarity with event promotion on social media and digital content management
- **Adaptability & Reliability**: A self-driven individual who is proactive, dependable, and ready to take on challenges in a dynamic environment
- **Professionalism & Team Collaboration**: Ability to work independently while also being a key contributor to a larger team effort
