**Position Description Summary**:
The YWCA Lethbridge and District has served Southern Alberta for more than 60 years providing opportunity to
thousands of individuals and families each year. We are seeking a dedicated individual who wants to make a difference
in the lives of young adults through our Hestia Homes Program. Hestia Homes is a housing first program that provides
housing and mentorship to youth ages 18-24 that have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. The relief Role
Model receives a stipend of $55 per night.
Do you have the desire to provide positive role modeling and life skills to at risk youth? Hestia Homes is looking to fill
relief Role model position and we are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to fill this position. The
Role model position works collaboratively with the YWCA residential support team to build life skills and create
independence which is the ultimate goal of the program. The relief Role model will fill in for our full time Role models
when they have time off.
**Qualifications**:
**Experience and Education**
- Skills and discretion to provide an appropriate role model to youth in transition.
- Minimum grade 12, with preferably training in related areas, i.e.: Child and Youth Care Diploma/Degree
Bachelor of Social Work, or related field.**Special Knowledge and/or Skills**
- Knowledge of these issues surrounding adolescence (i.e.: addictions, childhood abuse, economic factors, etc.)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered care
- Knowledge of the Housing First Model
- Knowledge of the Harm Reduction Model
- Ability to assess and respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
- Standard first aid training must be acquired.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Suicide Intervention training
