Edmonton, Canada Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society Full time

**Purpose**:
Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society (Bent Arrow) is a non-profit organization that provides unique programs and services to Edmonton’s urban Indigenous population. The organization was created in 1994 when Brad and Shauna Seneca identified the need for programming for Indigenous children and families based in traditional Indigenous values and teachings. This year we are celebrating our 30 anniversary, and we have grown as an agency where we have over 250 staff and 23 programs, but our mission remains to “build on the strengths of Aboriginal children, youth, and their families to enable them to develop spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally so they can walk proudly in both the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.”

**The Program**:
The Sohkisiwin program supports Indigenous Women, Girls, and those that identify as LGTBQ/Two Spirited who are victims of family violence or intimate partner violence. Our program provides guidance and support in mapping the path to healing. We provide one-on-one outreach services and in-class facilitation designed to support victims of family violence in exiting or who are seeking support in their healing journey. The facilitation consists of 12-weeks of in class workshops developed to provide increased education and awareness about intergenerational trauma, family violence, cultural connections, and increased skill development so families can feel empowered.
