**Summary**:
**Duties**:

- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
- Operate instruments, with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
- Perform basic analysis
- Report results
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Chemical Technology Diploma or BSc. Preferred degree in Microbiology
- Previous work lab experience is an asset, competency with pH meter, incubator and autoclave preferred
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail with good organizational skills
- Basic computer skills especially with MS Excel and LIMS
- Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment

**Work Environment**:This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
