**Job Title**:Junior Buyer
**Reports To**:Chief Financial Officer
**Job Purpose**
In keeping with the Company’s mission and values, the Junior Buyer is responsible for the purchase of raw materials, components, services, and plant supplies to support the production schedule within the defined commodity strategies to achieve cost, quality, and timing targets. The Junior Buyer is also responsible for sustaining active supplier relationships to maintain a reliable source of supply, while building internal customer relationships by working closely with the operations personnel to help meet project requirements.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist Purchasing with order generation and confirmations
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Track orders and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation, accounting for quality and regulatory requirements for applicable raw materials, components, services, and supplies
- Support operations personnel to meet the project requirements in regards to equipment, materials, or other procured needs
- Evaluate and manage vendor relationships to obtain accurate quotes, maintain quality of goods, achieve timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts, expediting as necessary
- Negotiate prices, quality, quantity, credit terms, discounts and delivery arrangements with suppliers on goods purchased
- Manage quality issues pertaining to assigned goods
- Manage, resolve disputes, and close associated Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA’s) on behalf of internal stakeholders
- Work closely with Accounting to maintain updated records of purchased product, delivery information, and invoices
- Support Accounting with the reconciliation of daily receipts and invoicing discrepancies to support the timely payment of supplier invoices
- Identifies and drives continuous improvements within established Purchasing best practices
- Other related duties, as required
**Qualifications/Education/Skills**
- Minimum 1 year of working knowledge in Procurement preferred
- Strong interest to work in the procurement area
- Adaptable to changing environments and rapid pace
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to analyze data and make decisions
- Able to work well under pressure on a number of tasks with imposing deadlines
- Strong organization and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met on time
- Ability to prioritize tasks as required/needed
- Able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- Communicates in a friendly and professional manner with management, co-workers, internal customers, suppliers, and client representatives
- Good work ethic, self-motivated, and effectively works independently or within a team environment
- Maintains confidentiality and user discretion with information
