Sakura Gardens is looking for horticulture specialists, horticulture crew members, and enthusiastic gardeners looking to join a growing, progressive organization that services residential clients in the Oakville, Burlington, and south Mississauga area. We look for team minded, detailed individuals who would like contribute to the growth and direction this niche-focused organization, as it services high-end clients and their fine gardening needs. Current positions include full time, part-time (3 days a week), and summer students.

**Job description**

**Main Duties**
- Garden maintenance - cultivating, weeding, perennial care, pruning
- Operate small equipment like backpack blowers, hedge trimmers
- Planting trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals, container building and maintenance
- Building gardens - site setup, digging and wheelbarrowing, planting and mulching
- Occasionally laying flagstone and placing armour stone
- Learning and expanding knowledge of landscape maintenance and garden installation
- Interfacing with clients as needed
- Involved in site planning, set up and clean up
- Working with teams of 2-6 people depending on client and assignment

**Job Requirements**
- High school diploma
- Some post secondary horticulture education
- Landscaping experience an asset
- Physically capable of lifting, wheelbarrowing, repetitive tasks
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team oriented and able to complete all tasks assigned
- Problem solving skills
- Hard working and self-motivated

This person should have education and experience in landscape management, can recognize and provide solutions to landscape problems. This position will allow for field experience, which can progress to crew leader and management roles. This role includes substantial on-the-job training tailored to suit the long term goals of staff members.

Hours: 18-50 per week depending on role and responsibilities

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship, Permanent, Part-time

**Salary**: $20.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
