Airport Training Coordinator (AVSEC)
The pay rate for this position is $27 an hour.
**Site Description**:Halifax Stanfield is Atlantic Canada’s principal full-service airport providing passengers and cargo clients with direct access to markets across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Europe, and Asia. Halifax Stanfield offers Canada Customs services on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis, and it’s the only airport in Atlantic Canada with U.S. preclearance and International to Domestic processing facilities. The Airport is a major economic generator, contributing $3.8 billion annually to the provincial economy pre-pandemic. In 2020, Halifax Stanfield served 995,000 passengers and processed nearly 33,000 metric tonnes of cargo.
A successful canadidate for the AVSEC Training Coordinator position will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of specialized training.
Reporting to the Security Services Manager, the AVSEC (Aviation Security) Training Coordinator is responsible for providing and maintaining a high level of aviation-related security training. The AVSEC Training Coordinator will facilitate week-long, in person training courses for newly hired Airport Security Officers.
As well, the Training Coordinator will be called upon to administer additional training sessions, such as the Security Quality Assurance Program, the Explosive Trace Detection program, and any other training initiatives implemented by HIAA Security Management.
**Requirements**:
The AVSEC Training Coordinator is a training professional who has experience in researching, developing, and delivering adult training.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Learning & Development
In additon to teaching/training experience, required skills include: effective communication, group facilitation, collaboration, organization, record maitenence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Aviation knowledge is preferred but not required.
