We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Head Teachers who are passionate about youth education, instructional leadership, and academic administration. Position Summary The Head Teacher leads the academic operations at their assigned Tamwood summer camp location, ensuring exceptional teaching quality across both ESL classes and Academy programs. This role oversees curriculum delivery, classroom culture, teacher performance, student placement testing, class assignments, and daily academic logistics, while serving as the main academic point of contact for staff, students, group leaders, and partner teams. Working closely with the Academic Manager, Camp Director, and Head Office, the Head Teacher ensures program consistency, student satisfaction, instructional quality, safety, and alignment with Tamwood academic standards. The role is both instructional and operational, combining leadership, coaching, problem‑solving and student support in a fast-paced camp environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Academic Leadership & Program Execution
- Implement and oversee ESL curriculum and Academy program frameworks tomaintainhigh teaching quality and program fidelity.
- Conduct student placement testing and assign learners toappropriate ESLlevels and Academy cohorts,balancingnationality mix, learning needs, and class size.
- Ensure an English‑only environment across all academic spaces to supportimmersion andlanguage acquisition.
- Monitor lesson delivery,instructional strategies,studentengagement, and alignment with learning outcomesacross all academicprograms.
- Address classroom‑related student disciplinaryissuesin accordance withTamwood policies.
- Ensureclassroom organization, safety, and resource optimizationacross ESL and Academylearning spaces.
- Work withthe Academic Manager to arrangeemergencyclass coverages, includingsupplyteachingESL classes if needed. Teacher Supervision & Support
- Oversee lesson planningandcurriculum adherence,encouraginghands-on, inquiry‑basedinstruction.
- Create andmaintainteacher schedules and classroom assignments; adjust as needed to balance classes andoptimizelearning.
- Conduct formal and informal teacher observations, providingtimely,constructive feedback and coaching.
- Lead weekly academic staff meetings andprovide dailybriefingstoensurecommunication, clarity, and smooth operations.
- Mentor new instructorsinclassroom management, youth engagement, andadherence to Tamwood teaching standards. Administrative Duties
- Oversee all academiclogistics, including schedules,classroom readiness, andmaterial distribution.
- Manage graduation ceremonies, including certificatepreparation,distributing teacherprogressreports, andAcademy showcase support (final project).
- Maintainacademicsupplies,teachingmaterials, and equipment for all programs.
- Submit weekly payroll reports, supply orderrequests, and academic updates to Head Office.
- Collaborate with campoperationstoensuresmoothstudentorientation,transitions to and from classes,and closing activities.
- Complete end‑of‑season reports, inventories, andfacultyevaluations. Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as primary academic liaison for the CampDirector, CampCoordinator, and Group Leaders.
- Communicate regularly with the Health Attendantregardingstudentwellness and academicconcerns.
- Attend weeklyoffice hours andgroupleader meetings to review feedbackandaddress student issues.
- Representthe academic programduring parent or agent tours, as needed.
- Collaborate withpartnerorganizationsand guest speakerssupportingAcademyprogramming (where applicable). Qualifications & Skills
