The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, IT Infrastructure maintains, develops, and leads the IT Infrastructure program for WAA. The incumbent is responsible for the management oversight and guidance of the employees in this area and for establishing the departmental priorities in alignment with the strategic direction of the company.
The Manager, IT Infrastructure is a key individual of the WAA IT management team who is responsible for the planning, delivery, and support of the WAA’s IT infrastructure (network, storage, compute, and cloud environments). A key aspect of the role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, telecommunications systems, and cloud services. The IT Infrastructure Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. The Manager, IT Infrastructure will work closely with the IT department, the leadership team, internal and external stakeholders, while building on a culture of technical knowledge sharing, measured performance, mentorship, and coaching.
**Responsibilities include**:

- Coordinating and managing resources for day-to-day IT Infrastructure activities.
- Confer regularly with counterparts at other airports and represent WAA at industry events and conferences.
- Provide guidance and leadership to staff, consultants, and others in WAA on matters relating to IT Infrastructure
- Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all IT infrastructure including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, wireless implementations, and so on.
- Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
- Lead the personnel conducting network and server performance testing, obtain performance statistics and reports from the team; and develop strategies for maintaining network and server infrastructure.
- Manage operational costs; conduct near
- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
- Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
- Direct and administrate a contingent of network and server administrators, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
- Design and implement short
- and long-term plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
- Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
- Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
- Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
- Enforce and otherwise ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including PCI Compliant systems.

**Selection Criteria include**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or certifications related to virtualization (e.g., VMware, Microsoft Azure), networking, or cloud technologies are considered assets.
- 5 years extensive experience managing IT infrastructure, including network architecture, storage solutions, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments.
- 5 years’ experience leading infrastructure upgrades and implementation projects, demonstrating strong project management skills in planning, execution, and oversight.
